What’s Next for Tolani?

The honest answer? I am still unfolding — and that’s the beauty of this journey.

After graduating, I plan to continue walking alongside individuals and communities who feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood — especially where mental health is still silenced by stigma. Whether it’s one-on-one support, community programming, or storytelling spaces, I want to keep holding room for healing and growth.

Professionally,

I have my eyes set on returning to school in the future to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). I believe in lifelong learning, and I want to keep expanding my skills so I can show up with even more depth and tools. I would also love to explore more speaking opportunities, collaborations with other change-makers, and find a path into advocacy and social policy work — helping shape the systems that shape our lives.

But it’s not all work! Personally, I am dreaming of:

  • Launching a storytelling blog or podcast that shares immigrant and mental health journeys especially among marginalized communities.

  • Spending time in nature, reading books that make me cry and reflect, and slowly building my plant collection

  • Traveling to reconnect with my roots, while continuing to build a life of purpose in Canada

  • Learning how to cook 3 new dishes from different countries dishes really well (I said what I said!)

The truth is: I don’t have it all figured out — and that’s okay. What I do know is this: I am here to build spaces where people feel less alone and more empowered to be their full selves.

This is just the beginning — and I’m excited for what’s next.

"My work is about planting seeds — in people, in systems, in myself — and trusting that they’ll grow into something powerful."
